ABOUT BRENDETTA SCOTT

As a seasoned attorney with two decades of experience and a mother of two beautiful daughters and a handsome son, I have honed my skills across the board.

My diverse legal domain includes serving as an independent hearing examiner for the Texas Education Agency and practicing law in areas such as bankruptcy, civil litigation, business law, family law, and appellate litigation. 

My educational background includes an Associate of Arts Degree from Mississippi Delta Community College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Jackson State University (W.E.B. Dubois Honors College), and a Juris Doctorate from Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law (T.M.S.L).

Actively contributing to legal education, I have taught Professional Responsibility and currently teach Appellate Litigation at my alma mater, T.M.S.L. Known for my attentiveness, decisive action, and commitment to achievement, I address challenges with a focus on effective, efficient, and timely task completion, showcasing adaptability in navigating the dynamic legal landscape.

Beyond legal accomplishments, I embody fairness, balance, and resilience.  My genuine care for the community, commitment to diversity, and advocacy for equality further underscore my suitability for this position.
